What to include in your support request
- Your shop name (e.g.
your-store.myshopify.com) - Which module it's about — payment methods, address checks, or order limits
- The rule, check, or limit that isn't behaving as expected
- A screenshot of how it's configured, if possible
- What the buyer saw at checkout, and what you expected instead
Nothing is checked while the buyer is in the cart. Address checks and order limits only speak at checkout. That's deliberate: a cart-stage error would also stop the buyer fixing the cart, because under a $50 minimum a $30 cart is below it and so is the empty cart that removing an item would leave. A rule that would block checkout still blocks it, so nothing is lost. If you were expecting a message in the cart, this is why. See the FAQ.
Payment method rules: naming and platform limits. Method names are matched case-insensitively and partially, so credit card matches Shopify Payments (Credit Card). Hide works on every method. Rename works on most (credit card gateways, PayPal, COD, regional methods, buy-now-pay-later) but not on wallets or accelerated checkout (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Meta Pay) or the native gift card field. Reorder works on most but not on wallets or accelerated checkout, which sit in a fixed Express section. If a rename or reorder rule ran and nothing changed at checkout, this is almost always why — the builder flags these methods in advance. See the FAQ for the full breakdown.
